Hedychium coccineum (Zingiberaceae), known as scarlet ginger lily, is an ornamental plant native to Asia, locally recognized under the names Aichhia and Mansila [1]. The rhizomes of this species represent a valuable source of essential oils (EO), composed mainly of monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes such as E-nerolidol, borneol acetate, spatulenol, linalool, elemol, and borneol [2]. Studies have highlighted various biological activities of EOs from H. coccineum, which include antimicrobial, insecticidal, nematicidal, anti-inflammatory, herbicidal, and antiproliferative properties [3].
