Matricaria chamomilla L. is a medicinal plant widely used in traditional medicine to treat various conditions, including infections, gastrointestinal and respiratory disorders [1]. Its herbal drug, according to the European Pharmacopoeia, consists of the dried flower heads with a minimum of 4 mL/kg essential oil and 0.25% apigenin 7-glucoside on a dry basis [2].
