El Premio Juan Martínez Valderrama ha sido instaurado en el marco del I Congreso Colombiano de Productos Naturales (2025) con el firme propósito de reconocer la excelencia académica y científica de los participantes a mejores posters y presentaciones orales en las categorías: Senior, Posgrado y Pregrado. Este galardón honra la memoria del distinguido investigador Juan Martínez Valderrama (Febrero 24 de 1944 – Enero 4 de 2024), cuyo legado en el campo de los productos naturales ha sido fundamental para el avance de la ciencia en Colombia y en el mundo.
