Abstract

Magnetite (Fe₃O₄) is a material with technological applications due to its magnetic properties and low toxicity. Its synthesis usually requires toxic stabilizers, but in this study, aqueous banana peel extract (EACP) was used as a natural alternative. Fe₃O₄ was obtained through a hydrothermal method and compared with synthesis by coprecipitation. Characterization confirmed the presence of magnetite and stabilizing metabolites in the EACP. The results indicate that EACP facilitates iron oxidation and nanoparticle stabilization, offering an eco-friendly approach aligned with the principles of green chemistry.
