Abstract

Cladonia is a genus represented by about 181 species in Neotropical zones, this genus is very important because it is a source of food for animals of economic importance such as the Caribou.  From some species of this genus active principles with antibiotic properties are extracted and used to manufacture bioproducts such as creams.
