Abstract

Curcuma zedoaria, also known as white turmeric, belongs to the Zingiberaceae family and is native to India. However, this medicinal plant has acclimatized in Brazil and various areas of Asia. It is appreciated both in the culinary field, as a condiment, and for its therapeutic uses in traditional medicine. It is used to treat menstrual problems, vomiting, toothache, cervical cancer, hepatitis, and various inflammations [1].
