📋 Submission Preparation Checklist
Before submitting a manuscript to the Revista Productos Naturales (RPN), authors must ensure that their work complies with all editorial requirements. Failure to meet any of these points may delay the review process.
- The manuscript has not been previously published nor is it under consideration by another journal. If otherwise, the situation has been explained in the Comments to the Editor.
- The submission file is in Microsoft Word (.docx) format and uses the official template corresponding to the manuscript type.
- The manuscript has been prepared using the appropriate official template (Research Article, Short Communication, Reflection Article, Monograph, or Minireview), and all internal editorial instructions have been removed prior to submission.
- The text uses Times New Roman 12, double spacing, italics instead of underlining (except for URLs), and figures and tables are inserted in the appropriate places within the text.
- The manuscript complies with the stylistic, taxonomic, SI units, and bibliographic requirements established in the Author Guidelines.
- Whenever possible, DOIs or URLs are provided for references, and these follow the official journal format, regardless of the reference manager used.
Articles
🧪 Research Article
Documents presenting detailed, original results from completed research projects. The structure includes: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion. Conclusions must be integrated within the discussion.
Editorial

A document written by the editor, a member of the editorial board, or an invited researcher, addressing perspectives or reflections within the journal’s thematic scope.
Reflection Article

A document presenting results of completed research from an analytical, interpretative, or critical perspective, based on original sources.
Review
📚 Monograph
A document resulting from completed research that analyzes, systematizes, and integrates published or unpublished studies in a scientific or technological field. It includes an extensive literature review of at least 50 references.
Short Article

A brief document presenting preliminary or partial original results from scientific or technological research that require rapid dissemination.
Letters to the Editor

Critical, analytical, or interpretative positions regarding documents published in the journal, contributing significantly to scientific discussion.
Minireview

A document that analyzes, systematizes, and integrates published or unpublished research results in a specific field. It includes a concise literature review with fewer than 50 references.

By submitting an article to the "Revista Productos Naturales (ISSN 1916-2413)", the authors agree to the following terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0):
- Copyright: The authors retain the copyright and grant the journal "Productos Naturales" the right of first publication of the article, which will simultaneously be subject to the Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgment of the authorship of the work and the initial publication in this journal.
- Non-Exclusive Distribution: The authors may establish additional agreements for the non-exclusive distribution of the version of the article published in the journal (e.g., deposit it in an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal.
- Authorship Recognition: Authors are required to acknowledge the authorship of the work and the initial publication in the journal "Productos Naturales" in any subsequent use of the article.
